R. Jean DeCaire
Growing up in the north country I spent my days riding bikes, catching butterflies, building forts, and fishing. It was no wonder my career choice was connected to the great outdoors!
With degrees in parks and recreation and the natural resources, I have been in the environmental education field for almost 20 years. It is my dream that all children should experience outdoor recreation opportunities and learn to play in the woods so they can connect with our environment and become good environmental stewards.
Educating people through writing has been an additional passion since college. I organized a 'green page' series of articles for over decade in our local newspaper, and started several environmental/park columns in a local county magazine.
My hobby of freelance writing allows me the opportunity to continue to educate parents about the great outdoors and gives them the confidence to pass that love of nature and outdoor play to the next generation!
